Gone are the days where romance should be used to get a better deal or preferential treatment.

This can only lead to problems in the long run and can damage your reputation. If you think it’s too intrusive to put a complete and utter kibosh on love at work, consider setting some parameters such as no romancing (or hooking up with) subordinates.

Boredom and drudgery vanish in the excitement of the new relationship. Can he legally keep the office Romeo and Juliet apart? When co-workers on the same level embark on a romantic relationship, chances are there will be no problem, unless one or both of the parties are married to others.

Depending on the circumstances, failing to do so could cost you a raise, a promotion – or even your job.

Of course, warnings about the dangers of workplace dating and office hookups are nothing new.
